Now, I’ve discovered that, no matter what physical DVD I try to play using the WMP11, it will only play the video portion –> there is NO SOUND!! Once I had installed All-in-one Codecs 6.0.3.0 (which includes AC3, DviX, Xvid, mpeg, etc.), suddenly Windows Media PLayer 11 was able to play the video as well as the audio from a downloaded video file (like a TV episode, etc.). Whoever wrote the software for Windows Media Player 11 should be shot! First, the initial download lacks the codecs necessary to play the video from ANY video – be it an actual DVD or a downloaded video.
